In what's surely one of the more unexpected collaborations of 2018, Nike SB will be linking up with the NBA for a collection that includes footwear and apparel.
Previewed by @stashedboxes is an SB Dunk Low from the collection. The tonal blue pair sports what appears to be a satin upper with waxed laces. Although there's no overt branding, the NBA's logo appears behind the tongue.
In addition to the sneakers, US11 shared a set of co-branded NBA x Nike SB bomber jackets in both blue and white colorways, which could be an indication that the sneakers will also drop in white.
As of now, this collab is rumored to release in either September or October.
UPDATE (9/21): Official images and information have surfaced for the forthcoming NBA x Nike SB collaboration. The collab features both sneakers and apparel including a satin bomber jacket and oversized NBA logo hoodie. On the sneaker side of things, today's new information confirms the previous rumors that the Nike SB Dunk Low will be included in the collab but in addition, the Nike SB Bruin and Blazer are also a part of this joint project.
“As a skateboarder, I’ve always looked at those early basketball shoes from an aesthetic standpoint—because the style was always cool—but also from a technological standpoint, because of the similarities in our need for impact and support," Eric Koston said of the collab.
The NBA x Nike SB collaboration drops Oct. 13 online via nike.com and at select retailers, while the NBA x pink Nike Bruin and hoodie drop on Dec. 1. Check below for more detailed images of the collab.
