Nike has introduced its latest addition to the world of tennis footwear—the Air Zoom Zero.
The goal of the new NikeCourt design was to offer a more fluid motion for players. To achieve this, Nike added a full-length, curved Zoom Air unit. The Air Zoom Zero marks the first Nike tennis model with full-length Zoom Air, and is also the first time that Nike has catered the tech specifically to movements common in the sport of tennis. The point of the curved Zoom unit is to provide the benefits of top-loaded and bottom-loaded Zoom simultaneously, without the need for two separate Air bags.
Other features on the Air Zoom Zero include a mesh upper with a neoprene bootie for additional lockdown, a sculpted midsole, and a durable rubber outsole. Branding comes in the form of a Swoosh on the lateral toe, heat mapping pattern on the tongue tab, "NIKECOURT" on the medial heel, and "New York" written in multiple languages on the midsole and heel as a nod to the U.S. Open kicking off in the city at the end of August.
Look for the NikeCourt Air Zoom Zero to hit nike.com and other select retailers on Thursday, July 19 in three colorways for men and women. Pricing has yet to be announced.
